adidas - 1979 + Teaser

adidas has done it again. They've released one of the sickest shoes I have ever seen. Sterling and I went to the grand opening of what is called the 1979 - an adidas re-release of the "Top Ten" B-Ball shoe that hit the scene in the late 70's. Created by Undefeated/Estevan Oriol in an attempt to supersede any pre-existing colabs. Interviews with Estevan Oriol, Mr. Cartoon, Danny Trejo, and much more. All coming soon, here's a snippet.

Reebok Pumps

You may remember stepping on the playground/courts and seeing kids getting ready to play - pumpin fat tongues. The skate-fashion version of this was stuffing tongues from older shoes underneath the tongue of your shoes. "Dope 'em out" - AKA the Geoff Clough. I just did a photo shoot of the new Reebok pumps for Mean Mag. Check 'em.

PF Flyers - Run Faster & Jump Higher

     PF Flyers - High Top

Remember PF Flyers? Started by BF Goodrich - the tire guy - by canvas footwear in the early 1930's. They patented the super comfy insole under Posture Foundation which became popular as the "PF." In the 1960's, this popular gym shoe was found more on the street as a comfortable alternative to oxfords and loafers.

It was later on that Pro Keds, and Converse All Stars hit the market under the same "performance enhancing" footwear marketed to athletic enthusiasts.

Sterling and I went to the canvas store in Malibu, a store trying to continue the tradition of the PF Flyer with a new release, the Albin - designed to be worn by the leaders of art and rock n roll.
